FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How should I clean my tinted windows to ensure longevity?

It's recommended to use a non-ammonia cleaner and a soft cloth, such as a T-shirt. A mixture of vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water) or Windex with vinegar is suitable. Ensure the cleaner does not contain ammonia. If you hire a professional window cleaner, inform them about the tinted windows.

  • Can window tinting be applied during wet or cold weather?

Yes, modern adhesive systems allow for window tinting even in freezing conditions. However, curing times may be longer in adverse weather. Professional installers account for weather conditions, applying extra heat to edges to activate the drying process. Using high-performance or metal window tinting products ensures quality adhesion.

  • I just had my windows tinted, and now they're hazy. Will this go away?

If a metalized film was used, it has a slower drying time. In hot summer conditions, drying takes 1-2 weeks; in winter, it can take up to 30 days. Sun exposure accelerates drying—the more sun the windows receive, the faster they will dry.

  • What causes window tinting to bubble?

Bubbles are typically caused by UV rays from the sun degrading the adhesive system of the tint. To prevent this, purchase major brand name window tint materials with high-temperature adhesive systems and 99% UV protection capabilities. These films are available from reputable dealers.

  • How durable is window tinting?

Quality window tint products have a hard, scratch-resistant coating that protects against everyday use, including interactions with kids and pets. However, care should be taken when handling sharp or hard objects near the windows, as they can damage even the best tinting materials. If damage occurs, replacing the tint on one window is usually not expensive.

  • How do the black dots and lines at the edge of newer car windows affect window tinting?

These black dots, or matrix patterns, are made of a Teflon-type material applied at the factory for cosmetic purposes. Their thickness can make applying window tint challenging, as tint is designed to adhere directly to glass. In some cases, the dot pattern or lines are so thick that it makes it impossible for the tint to stick at all.

  • How will window tinting affect my defroster's performance?

Window tinting helps insulate the window, aiding the defroster in clearing frost and fog more quickly.

  • After tinting, I see tiny bubbles on the glass. Will they go away?

Yes, tiny air particles can become trapped under the film during installation. As the film cures, usually after a hot summer, it will tighten around these spots, making them smaller and less noticeable.

Six Reasons To Get Tinted

  • Avoid Overheating

Proper tinting can keep your car's interior up to 60% cooler during hot summer days, enhancing comfort and reducing reliance on air conditioning.

  • Protect Your Skin

Window tinting blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays, safeguarding your skin from potential damage and reducing the risk of skin cancer.

  • Accident Protection

In the event of an accident, window tinting can help hold shattered glass together, reducing the likelihood of injury from flying glass fragments.

  • Safer Driving

Tinting reduces dangerous glare from the sun, snow, and other headlights, helping you drive safely.

  • Enhanced Privacy

Tinting protects your privacy and contents within a car. What a burglar can't see, he won't steal.

  • Prevent Cracking and Fading

Harmful UV rays and heat cause car upholstery to crack and fade. Car tint is sunscreen for your car.
